The hose safety strap, also called pull-out protection, is a simple but important safety accessory for professional high-pressure water jetting. Its purpose is to protect the operator if a high-pressure hose splits or breaks off at a connection point. In that situation, the strap helps control the movement of the hose and reduces the danger around the machine.

For industrial equipment, this is more than a useful extra. According to DIN EN 1829-2, safety gear is mandatory for high-pressure water jetting systems with a pressure generator above 40 kilowatts or a maximum permissible operating pressure above 500 bar. It is also required whenever people are present at the place of use, which is normally the case with hand-held equipment. For operators, this means safety planning must be part of the setup, not an afterthought.

The practical requirement depends on the machine and the working environment. A high-pressure water jetting system at 500 bar and 34 kW does not necessarily require a safety strap, while systems operating above 500 bar and above 40 kW do. When working at 500 bar and above, DYNAJET recommends using a hose safety strap as a sensible precaution, even where it is not strictly required.

The strap is designed for universal use and can be connected to hoses, machines or tools. This makes it easy to integrate into existing workflows without complicating the job. For professional operators, that means a safer working setup, better hose control and a clearer approach to risk reduction when working with high pressure.
