Remove snow and ice reliably with a high-pressure cleaner

Snow and ice can quickly stop work on construction sites, in yards and on stored material. A hot water high-pressure cleaner offers a practical way to clear frozen surfaces and prepare substrates when cold weather would otherwise delay the job. It reaches areas that are difficult to clean manually, including spaces between reinforcements, and helps leave a surface ready for the next working step.

For winter use, the water should be preheated to around 40°C on the way to the work location so the high-pressure cleaner itself is protected against frost. The hot water can then be used to remove snow and ice while avoiding puddles. In many applications, the remaining moisture evaporates more quickly, which helps reduce residue on the substrate. That makes it easier to continue with concreting, painting or similar processes without unnecessary interruption.

This is especially relevant when working with precast concrete elements, formwork surfaces and reinforcement. Snow and ice prevent proper bonding to the substrate, and ice can also damage or crack the structure. When concreting cannot be postponed, the fresh concrete must not be colder than +5°C when poured. Hot water can also support the process by being injected into the compulsory mixer or combined with the aggregate before cement is added, depending on the working method and site conditions.

Successful winter work depends on more than removing ice alone. Protective drying measures should be prepared in advance and kept in place as long as needed. Depending on the weather, component size and formwork, insulation covers may be enough for short frost periods, while longer or more severe frost usually requires heating the air around the fresh concrete. Used correctly, high-pressure cleaning becomes a reliable tool for keeping projects moving in cold conditions.
